The latest push of Canadian air will slowly moderate over New York City during the balance of the week.
After temperatures dip to their lowest levels of the season so far Wednesday morning, in the upper 30s in the chilliest suburbs to near 50 in Midtown, highs will trend upward through the 70s Wednesday through Friday.
There is the potential for fog developing early Wednesday and Thursday mornings well north and west of the city. Commuters who drive may want to allow some extra travel time as a result.
If you are heading to Citi Field to enjoy some late-season baseball during the evenings through Thursday for the Mets versus Giants series, bring a jacket, sweatshirt or sweater and wear long sleeves.

The weather for the start of the Yankees and Giants series Friday evening will be a bit warmer.
Unfortunately, for folks with outdoor plans this weekend, the next chance of rain is Saturday night into Sunday as another cool front moves through the region.
