Darby Becomes The Third Hurricane of the Eastern Pacific Season

July 14,2016
Hurricane Darby is the strongest tropical cyclone of the moment during this latest spurt of eastern Pacific activity.
Hurricane Darby will not threaten any land areas.
Here's the latest from the National Hurricane Center:
  • Hurricane Darby is located just over 660 miles southwest of the southern tip of Baja California.
  • Additional strengthening should continue into Friday.
  • Darby will then weaken with farther westward extent this weekend, similar to the past three storms (Agatha, Blas, and Celia).
  • Darby is no threat to any land areas at this time, for at least the next five days.
