Monday is shaping up to be the nicest day of the new week in Pittsburgh with the return of rain and cooler air on the horizon.
Pittsburgh will remain on the warm side of a frontal boundary draped across the Northeast to start the new week.
With cold and snow locked up to the north, temperatures on Monday in Pittsburgh will rise into the lower 60s. A high in the upper 50s is more typical this time of year.
Monday will be a good day for any outdoor activities or sporting events. Dry weather will dominate as clouds mix with sunshine.

For baseball fans heading to Cincinnati to watch the Pirates open the season against the Reds at Great American Ball Park, a thunderstorm could cause a brief interruption.
Temperatures in Pittsburgh will remain above normal on Tuesday, but the return of rain will force residents to grab umbrellas out of the closet.

The cooler air plunging into the Northeast at midweek will remain east of Pittsburgh and the Laurel Mountains. However, more rain will fall and threaten to interfere with outdoor activities. A thunderstorm or two may even rumble.

Temperatures will soar on Friday, but an approaching cold front will once again lead to a wet day.
