Following tranquil, dry conditions early in the week, an outbreak of severe weather will pose a threat to Dallas at midweek.
Warm, humid weather will stick around through late in the week, with temperatures settling in the low 80s. A normal high temperature for this time of year in Dallas is in the upper 70s.
The turn to warmer air is laying the groundwork for the severe weather threat which will occur on Wednesday and Thursday.
On Wednesday and Thursday, thunderstorms will move through the area, especially during the afternoon and evening hours both days. At this time, the worst of the potential outbreak is more likely for Thursday, with the storms bringing damaging winds, large hail, tornadoes and frequent lightning.

"This is a very complex and evolving storm system and the forecast will need continuous refinement the closer we get to Wednesday and Thursday," stated AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Rebecca Elliott.
This severe weather outbreak will threaten lives and property, so residents should take time to review the difference between tornado watches and warnings as well as tornado safety tips.
