Quick-Hitting Snow Slows Travel From Pittsburgh to DC, Philly

A fast-moving clipper system sweeping across the Northeast through Tuesday will leave behind a swath of snow and travel delays.
The cold storm system produced a swath of 1-6 inches of snow over the Midwest on Monday and Monday night.
Most areas east of the Appalachians received 3 inches or less from the storm on Tuesday which was winding down in the afternoon.

Interstates 66, 70, 80, 81, 83, 90 and 95 are just some of the roadways that were facing slow travel and poor road conditions. Motorists are urged to slow down. Delays at some of the major hubs can be expected as well.

As temperatures plummet Tuesday evening, motorists and pedestrians should be on the lookout for icy spots as wet and slushy areas freeze.

Frigid temperatures will already be in place when the storm sweeps through, but a shot of reinforcing cold will follow.
High temperatures will be in the teens and single digits Tuesday across the Plains and Midwest, but another shot of brutally cold air will keep highs from reaching above zero for many on Wednesday.
As the next blast of cold air settles into the Northeast, snow showers can wander well away from the Great Lakes and could bring a fresh coating of snow to some areas east of the Appalachians on Wednesday.
