Minneapolis: Frigid Air and Snow to Accompany Clipper

Frigid arctic air and snow will highlight the first full week of 2015 as a fast-moving clipper storm passes through.
A swath of accumulating snow will likely pass through Minneapolis Monday night, producing poor driving conditions and travel delays across the region.
Even though the clipper will move at a rapid pace, accumulations are still possible across southern Minneapolis.

A couple of inches will blanket the ground across the region with the heaviest snow falling the farther south you go.
This snow will fall rather quickly and will likely end by Tuesday morning. However, the cold air will just be beginning.
"In the wake of the snow Monday night, the most frigid air mass of the season will plunge into the Midwest and Great Lakes for the middle of the week with highs likely struggling to get above zero," said AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Erik Pindrock.

Temperatures will be 20 to 30 degrees below average for this time of the year.
Overnight lows are expected to drop well below zero with the coldest air settling in during the middle of the week.
"A gusty wind will make the AccuWeather RealFeel Temperatures drop in the minus to minus 20s range at times," added Pindrock.
