A magnitude-4.2 earthquake struck early Saturday evening north of Los Angeles.
The temblor's epicenter was located 9 miles north of Castaic, California, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, ABC7 Eyewitness News in Los Angeles reported.
The quake occurred at 7:18 p.m. PST Saturday, and was preliminarily rated as magnitude 4.5 before it was reduced to a 4.2.
A 3.0-magnitude earthquake occurred about 10 minutes before the larger quake hit, the USGS said.
The quake could also be felt in the Los Angeles area and south toward Long Beach, according to the USGS.
