A weather pattern change Friday will bring cool and showery weather to Southern California and other portions of the West through the weekend.
Dominated by high pressure for the start of the month, most of the Southwest has had dry weather and sunshine with above-average temperatures for November.
Earlier this week, Fresno reached 83 degrees on Wednesday and Las Vegas was 77 degrees Thursday.
But these pleasantly warm temperatures will soon come to an end.
Temperatures will drop below average from the San Joaquin Valley south to Las Vegas, making it feel much cooler. By Saturday, cloud cover and a rush of cold air will bring temperatures down to 56 in both Fresno and Sin City.
While San Diego will not see such a drastic temperature change, the city and surrounding areas will experience some fall-like showers and a breezy west wind Friday and Saturday.
The same will be true for many other coastal cities like Los Angeles and Ventura that are expected to receive spotty showers Friday and Saturday.
With a jet stream taking a large dip in the West, moving south of Fresno, cold Canadian air will be able to filter down into Southern California.
Meanwhile, northern California and much of Nevada will get snow. The cold air surrounding a low pressure in Wyoming Friday will allow for snow with this storm, rather than the normal rain showers this time of year.
While showers are expected to move out of the West Sunday, chilly weather will remain through the beginning of the week.
