Minnesota Slides Between Nasty Weather

November 9,2012; 7:12PM,EST

Much of Minnesota will slide in between the wildest weather this weekend.
Wind and snow will combine to make blizzard conditions at times from the northern High Plains of the United States to parts of Manitoba and northwestern Ontario. The accumulating snow will graze northern Minnesota.
Locally severe thunderstorms will stretch from portions of Wisconsin and Michigan to Texas and the central Gulf Coast. There can be rumbles of thunder in the southeastern counties of Minnesota.
It appears much of Minnesota, including Minneapolis and St. Cloud, will be in a zone of relatively benign weather conditions with spotty rain at first, then spotty snow.
Temperatures will surge into the 50s and 60s on Saturday in many areas ahead of a cold front.
However, it will turn windy and much colder over the weekend.
In the wake of the front, temperatures will be slashed by 20 to 30 degrees Sunday into Monday.
Gusts from the west and northwest may frequent 40 mph, making for AccuWeather.com RealFeel® temperatures in the single-digits, teens and 20s.
Some wet areas can turn icy as the cold air moves in from northwest to southeast spanning Saturday night into Sunday night. Drive carefully.
