Thanksgiving Travel Weather Trouble Spots Next Week

The biggest travel problems for early Thanksgiving travelers may be along both the East and West coasts.
A coastal storm may form over the western Atlantic early next week, sending rain and wind into portions of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
"It does not look like it will be as intense as the storm last week," AccuWeather Expert Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said. "Not as intense nor as cold."
However, with next week being one of the heaviest travel times of the year, there could be some slow travel for motorists along the I-95 corridor and flight delays from Boston to Washington, D.C., with rain, low clouds and wind.

The Midwest and interior Northeast may stay dry on Monday and Tuesday of next week, but temperatures will be on the chilly side.
Meanwhile, a potent storm from the Pacific threatens to bring heavy rain, mountain snow and locally gusty wind to the Northwest and northern California early next week.
The rain could slow travel along the I-5 corridor from Seattle to Portland and Medford, Ore. San Francisco may also get damp for a time, causing some slower holiday travel.
Snow levels could be down to pass level in the Northwest, impacting travel over heavy traffic areas such as Snowqualmie Pass along I-90.
Meanwhile, one other trouble spot for early Thanksgiving travelers may be the southern Rockies into Texas. An area of rain may blossom, causing slower travel at times.
