After the Jet Stream took an unseasonable jog to the south the past couple of weeks, the New York City metro-area in particular and the Northeastern US in general has experienced unseasonably cool temperatures thanks to an unseasonably late intrusion of the Polar Vortex, as well as a Nor'easter hitting the area over Mother's Day weekend. Finally, the Jet Stream is starting to retreat back into Canada, allowing warm and in some cases hot, humid air to stream up north and over the next couple of days in particular, record heat could cause record high temps to be broken in select Northeastern US cities.
