Rescue efforts continued Tuesday morning to find a two-year-old girl who was swept away in the Sainte-Anne River in Quebec's GaspĂ© Peninsula, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
The girl and the 37-year-old partner of her mother were initially swept away into the river on Sunday after their car swerved off a road. Late Monday afternoon, rescuers recovered the body of the man.
Parts of eastern Canada have been dealing with extensive flooding following days of heavy rain late last week and over the weekend.

AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Tom Kines said dry weather is expected over the next few days, along with moderating temperatures.
For areas around Montreal, the next chance of significant rain is toward the end of the week, he said.
