Next week will feel more like December as a prolonged cold snap settles over Germany.
While chilly air will arrive this weekend, even colder will plunge into Germany next week.
"This will be the coldest weather so far this fall season to come," AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys said.
Highs most days next week will be held 4-8 degrees Celsius (8-12 degrees Fahrenheit) below normal.
Temperatures will fail to rise to up to 4 C (40 F) in many communities on multiple days, making it feel like the calendar flipped ahead to December. At night, temperatures will plunge well below freezing on one or more occasions.
This includes in Berlin, Hamburg, Nuremberg and Munich.
"The last time Berlin endured temperatures this cold was in mid-March," Roys said.
Residents will have to crank up the heat and wrap up before heading outdoors. Be sure that animals kept outdoors have the proper shelter.

Adding to the wintry feel of the air, the cold will also set the stage for snow opportunities across parts of the country.
"Early in the week, places that are likely to get some snow, mainly on grassy surfaces, will be up in the higher terrain," Roys said.
Roys stated that the better chance for snow is in the north-central mountains where snow showers will be more numerous than farther south.
However, even wet snowflakes could be seen in some of the lower elevations, especially in any heavier showers or at night.
The potential for more locations outside of the mountains to receive at least a little snow will unfold at midweek.
"A front will work its way into Germany at midweek and cold air will be in place," Roys said, "so any precipitation will start as snow or a wintry mix that will change to rain in the afternoon."
The December-like cold snap should finally ease next weekend.
