Rain to dampen Epiphany Day celebrations in Spain

Unsettled weather continues for much of Spain, with rounds of rain expected into the middle of the week, including during the Feast of Epiphany, also known as Three Kings' Day, on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, rainfall is expected to dampen areas from Galicia to Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha and into Andalucia. This rain will likely linger into the evening hours for parades and outdoor celebrations across the nation.
Spectators and those helping with the parades should bring along rain gear.

In addition to the rain, it will be breezy across most of Spain on Tuesday, with wind gusts as high as 50 km/h (about 30 mph). However, gusts will be highest along the coast of Galicia. Winds off the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay of Biscay could bring gusts of 50 to 70 km/h (30 to 43 mph).
However, Tuesday night will not be the end of the rain and wind.
"A warm front will bring the heaviest rain into western Spain on Wednesday," AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys said.
"The steady rain will stay mostly in the northwest but could be heavy enough to cause minor flooding, especially given the rainfall amounts accumulated over the last several days," Roys added.
Much of central Spain will see showers diminishing by the afternoon and evening hours on Wednesday, while the eastern coasts of Spain, from Barcelona to Almeria, will remain dry. Some sunshine is forecast for the beaches.

Northwestern Spain could be even windier on Wednesday with winds reaching 80 km/h (50 mph), especially along the coasts and in the higher elevations. Winds will once again be whipping from Castille y Leon to Comunidad Valenciana for Three Kings' Day.
Wet weather and bursts of gusty winds are expected to continue through the latter half of the week. A potent front could bring another wave of heavier rain from Galicia to western parts of Castile y Leon later on Friday and into the weekend.
