Bitter cold will return in full force to the Boston area early this week.
The latest cold blast follows a quick dose of snow from early Monday morning.
Frigid temperatures early week
High temperatures will be held in the 20s F through Tuesday. Blustery winds will worsen the situation by preventing AccuWeather RealFeel® temperatures from rising out of the single digits. Early Tuesday morning, RealFeel® temperatures may approach 10 below zero.

Residents will want to bundle up and cover exposed skin before spending any significant time outdoors to prevent frostbite. Care should be taken to ensure animals have proper shelter.
The cold will not be as harsh starting at midweek, but another surge of milder air does not look to follow. High temperatures should instead be held to near 30 later in the week.
