Severe Weather Forecast for Nov. 23-29, 2015 (FORECAST)

November 22,2015
No severe thunderstorms are forecast through the start of a new week as a cool and stable environment overspreads much of the country behind Winter Storm Bella. Thunderstorms may eventually develop by Wednesday and Thursday as the next storm system takes shape over the central United States.

Thunderstorm Forecast


















Monday - Wednesday
  • No organized severe thunderstorm activity is expected as a relatively stable environment is forecast across the country.
  • A few non-severe thunderstorms may develop across portions of the southern Plains on Wednesday night.
Thanksgiving (Thursday)
  • A few isolated severe thunderstorms appear possible across portions of Oklahoma and central Texas.
  • The risk of thunderstorms slides into southeastern Kansas, southern Missouri and northwestern Arkansas Thursday night and may persist in Oklahoma and Texas as well.
  • The severe threat will depend on the evolution of a storm system across the Plains and how much instability develops ahead of its cold front.
Friday
  • Thunderstorms are expected from western Tennessee into Arkansas, western Mississippi, Louisiana and much of eastern and southern Texas.
  • A few isolated severe thunderstorms are possible, mainly from northern and western Louisiana into southern Arkansas and south-central and eastern Texas.
