Weather Underground Forecast for Thursday,October 9,2014

A cold frontal boundary will extend from the Southeast to the southern Plains on Thursday, while tropical moisture will continue to affect the Four Corners.

A cold frontal boundary will stretch across the Southeast, the Deep South, the lower Mississippi Valley and the southern Plains on Thursday. As warm, muggy air streams northward from the Gulf of Mexico, widespread thunderstorms will develop along this frontal boundary. Stormy weather will focus over the central and southern Plains, the middle Mississippi Valley, the Tennessee Valley and parts of the Southeast. Heavy rain associated with these thunderstorms will bring a threat of flash flooding to northeast Oklahoma, southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri. High pressure will keep conditions mostly clear across the Mid-Atlantic and the coast of New England.

Meanwhile, thunderstorms will continue to fire up over the western Gulf Coast on Thursday. In addition, the southern half of Florida will also experience showers and thunderstorms to due an easterly flow from the Atlantic.

To the west, tropical moisture associated with the remnants of Simon will trigger rain and thunderstorms over the Four Corners and the southern Rockies. High pressure over the eastern Pacific will keep conditions mostly clear across the West Coast, the Great Basin and the Pacific Northwest.
