Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,October 8,2014

A cold frontal boundary will extend from the Mid-Atlantic to the southern Plains on Wednesday, while tropical moisture will spread across the Southwest.

An area of low pressure will lift north northeastward over the southeastern corner of Canada on Wednesday. This system will usher mixed precipitation across portions of the upper Midwest and the western Great Lakes, while rain and thunderstorms will affect the Northeast. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend south southwestward over the Mid-Atlantic, the Tennessee Valley, the lower Mississippi Valley and the southern Plains. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible along this frontal boundary over parts of the Mid-Atlantic, the Deep South, the Mississippi Valley and the central Plains. An easterly flow from the Atlantic will also trigger thunderstorms over the southern tip of Florida.

Meanwhile, a stationary front will stretch across the upper Intermountain West and the central high Plains. Rain will develop ahead of this frontal boundary over the Dakotas and southwest Minnesota.

Tropical moisture associated with Simon will continue to spread across the Southwest on Wednesday. This moisture will initiate rain and thunderstorms over southeast California and the Four Corners. Heavy rain will bring a chance of flash flooding to southern Arizona. High pressure will keep the West Coast, the Pacific Northwest and the Great Basin mostly clear of wet weather.
