Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday,October 19,2014

An area of low pressure will affect the northeastern corner of the country on Sunday, while a cold front will approach the West Coast.

A low pressure system will continue to lift northeastward over southeast Canada on Sunday. This system will usher light to moderate showers across the Great Lakes, the Ohio Valley and portions of the Northeast. High elevation snow showers will also be possible over the central and northern Appalachians. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend across the Eastern Seaboard. Temperatures will be roughly 10 degrees below normal from the upper Midwest to the Northeast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will fire up along the tail end of the cold front, which will focus over southern Florida.

Meanwhile, a separate system will develop over the western Great Lakes. This system will bring a chance of light showers to northeast Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and northern Michigan during Sunday evening.

Moisture will pool northwestward from the Gulf of Mexico, which will initiate afternoon and evening thunderstorms over southern and western Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Scattered showers will also be possible over southern Colorado and southern Utah.

A strong cold front will approach the West Coast, bringing a chance of late evening rain to northwest California, western Oregon and western Washington. Late evening snow showers will develop along the higher elevations of the Cascades.
