Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday,October 11,2014

A stationary front will extend from the southern Plains to the Mid-Atlantic on Saturday, while a cold front will dip southward over the Pacific Northwest.

A stationary front will stretch across the southern Plains, the middle Mississippi Valley, the Tennessee Valley and the Mid-Atlantic on Saturday. As warm, muggy air pools northward from the Gulf of Mexico, rain and thunderstorms will develop over the southern Plains, the western Gulf Coast, the lower Mississippi Valley and the middle Mississippi Valley. Similar conditions will affect the Tennessee Valley and the Mid-Atlantic. Rainy weather will push across southern New England by the late afternoon and evening. In addition, an onshore flow from the Atlantic will initiate thunderstorms over the southern tip of Florida. Temperatures are forecast to be 10 to 20 degrees below normal from the central high Plains to the middle Mississippi Valley. High pressure will keep conditions mostly clear over the upper Midwest and the Great Lakes.

Meanwhile, a cold frontal boundary will begin to move south southeastward over the northwestern corner of the country on Saturday. Showers will develop ahead of this frontal boundary over the Pacific Northwest, while wet weather is forecast for the Intermountain West during Saturday evening. A ridge of high pressure will remain in place over the eastern Pacific, as warm, dry conditions will persist across the Southwest and the Great Basin.
