Philly: Rain to Kick Off Another Weekend

After dry weather at midweek, rain will threaten the Philadelphia area Friday into Saturday.
How much rain falls at the end of the week will depend on the track and speed of a storm system moving up from the southwestern United States. A chunk of moisture from Tropical Rainstorm Simon will break off and travel swiftly northeastward, while the rest of the moisture stalls over the South Central states.
According to AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams, "After some rain for a time Saturday morning, it should clear Saturday afternoon."

Know when the rain will hit by using AccuWeather's MinuteCast™. It has the minute-by-minute forecast for your exact location. Type your city name, select MinuteCast, and input your street address. On mobile, you can also use your GPS location.
An area of high pressure over Canada should keep rain away on Sunday.
Temperatures the next few days will be within a few degrees of average, which range from a low near 50 F to a high in the upper 60s.
Looking ahead to next week, temperatures will trend upward and highs may be in the 70s on multiple days.
"It looks like a southwesterly flow of air will bring in warmth for a few days next week, but that warmth may be interrupted by a rainstorm," Abrams said.
For leaf peepers, some autumn color was to be found in southern New England and the coastal mid-Atlantic with foliage approaching peak color in northern New England and a few pockets over the central Appalachians, according to YankeeFoliage.com.
