Philly: Late-Week Dry Sweep Replaces Midweek Soaker

Drier air will filter back across Philadelphia late this week after Wednesday's soaking.
After creating a slow Wednesday evening commute for travelers around Philadelphia, the drenching rain will center on New England on Thursday.
Residents and visitors to Philadelphia will be able to put away their umbrellas after any lingering rain starting the day departs. Clouds will then break for some sunshine as temperatures rise into the low 70s.
A high in the upper 60s is more common in mid-October.

Friday will be a great day to get outside for a walk, run or a meal with friends or family. Those with sporting events or travel plans will not have to worry about weather-related disruptions.
The day will feature a partly sunny sky, rain-free conditions and temperatures rising to the 70-degree mark.

The dry weather will hold through the weekend despite the passage of a cold front. However, brisk northwesterly winds will usher cooler air in on Sunday.
