No big temperature extremes are in the offing for this week around New York City, but there will be some rain to contend with on occasion.
According to Northeastern Weather Expert Dave Dombek, "Temperatures will generally be within a few degrees of average this week, which happen to range from a low in the lower 50s F to a high in the upper 60s."
A breeze will take away from the seasonable temperatures at times.
In terms of wet weather, the week will not be dry the entire time.

A couple of episodes of showers are in the offing into early Wednesday. Some areas may get a drenching thunderstorm with locally damaging winds as well. The period from Wednesday midday through Thursday afternoon will be free of rain.
According to AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams, "The non-extreme weather during much of the week will provide an opportunity for leaf peeping."
Some autumn color was to be found in southern New England and the coastal mid-Atlantic with foliage approaching peak color in northern New England and a few pockets over the central Appalachians, according to YankeeFoliage.com.
Taking outdoor photos on a cloudy day versus a sunny one may yield better results, as long as it is not foggy or raining.

Looking ahead to Friday, a front is forecast to stall nearby with rain.

There is the chance the rain will be made heavy by moisture streaming northeastward from the southwestern United States. Moisture from a tropical system in the eastern Pacific, Simon, could be involved.
