Hurricane Fifi is one of the few Atlantic tropical systems to reach the Pacific Ocean and acquire a name change. Fifi did that 40 years ago and became Hurricane Orlene. Thousands of people died as a result of the storm's torrential rainfall and mudslides. Most of the deaths and damage occurred in Honduras.
