There is a risk of drenching downpours and some thunder and lightning at Beaver Stadium during Saturday afternoon's game between the Penn State Nittany Lions and Akron Zips.
Much of the week around Penn State University and much of the East has been quite warm and humid for early September.
As the warm and humid weather pattern prepares to move out, the transition will be marked with a zone of showers and thunderstorms that will stretch from northern New England to the Ohio Valley and advance eastward this weekend.

The bulk of the activity will be moving across Central Pennsylvania during the daylight hours on Saturday. For fans driving to the east and south after the game, the storms will tend to focus along the I-95 corridor during the evening hours, where they can be quite heavy and locally gusty.
Minute-by-minute rainfall forecasts for Beaver Stadium are available on AccuWeather.com MinuteCast™.
Temperatures will be mainly in the 70s on Saturday and will fall through the 60s and into the 50s at night as the cooler air sweeps in.
