A stretch of dry weather will settle in Chicagoland for the next couple of days, putting an end to the recent period of unsettled weather.
An area of high pressure will squash the chance for rain through the early part of next week.
After a warm and humid end to the past week, cooler and more enjoyable temperatures will filter in. Accompanying the downward trend in temperatures will be less humid air as well.
High temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 70s early next week, a couple degrees below normal for this time of the year. Low temperatures will remain in the 60s.
Folks who may have outdoor activities scheduled will find the weather to be rather enjoyable early in the week.

This will be due to a new system that will take shape across the Plains and travel into the Great Lakes by midweek.
The stretch of dry weather will likely come to an end Tuesday night through Wednesday as heavy rain and storms soak the area.
Some of the rain could be heavy enough to cause localized flooding, with a total of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Wednesday's baseball game at U.S. Cellular Field will have the highest chance for a rain delay.
Looking towards the end of the week, a shot of chilly air will follow behind this system into the Great Lakes. Temperatures may only reach into the 60s for Thursday and Friday.
