While Labor Day marked an unofficial end to the summer, the Chicago area will see warm, humid conditions continue before temperatures slide late in the week.
Even warmer air is expected on Thursday as high temperatures push the 90-degree mark.
"It'll be breezy and humid as well ahead of an approaching cold front," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards said. "The cold front will move through on Friday with showers and thunderstorms likely."
As the storms pass the Chicago area, cooler weather will return. Temperatures will slide into the low 70s for the weekend.
