After a bout of showers and thunderstorms, sunshine and drier weather will return to the Chicago area for the weekend accompanied by cooler, fall-like weather.
Temperatures will sink to the middle to upper 50s on Saturday with overnight lows sliding into the 40s.

A similar trend will remain into the late weekend and early next week with temperatures hovering around 60 F.
While the weather will be cooler through the weekend, plenty of sun and dry weather is in store for those with outdoor activities planned.
