After the city was slammed by record-breaking downpours that inundated Detroit and surrounding areas earlier in the week, drier and more pleasant weather will remain through the weekend.
"Temperatures through Saturday and Sunday will remain in the mid-70s to near 80 F," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Erik Pindrock said.

Temperatures are only a few degrees the average, but the cooling trend will remain through the duration of the weekend.
"It will be mostly sunny Saturday and Sunday with a chance for isolated showers," Pindrock said. "Most of the time it will be dry."
A chance for showers will come Saturday afternoon, but the day will be dry, providing pleasant conditions for those with outdoor activities planned.
The chance for showers will increase slightly for Sunday and could occur throughout the day.

"Looking ahead into Monday, there's a cold front that will push through the area," Pindrock said.
With low pressure building in the Ohio Valley, the potential for clouds and a shower will present itself Monday. Areas north of Detroit could see some sunshine, he added.
"Tuesday looks like a very day with a high of 79F," Pindrock said. "Going into Wednesday, temperatures will climb back into the low 80s."
Temperatures will remain seasonable and overall pleasant into the week.
