Cooler Weather Returns to Seattle

After a blazing heat wave, Seattle's temperatures will dip with showers and clouds to follow into early next week.
"An onshore flow and a few dips in the jetstream will keep Seattle unsettled with near to slightly below-normal temperatures over the coming days," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards said.

A few showers will pop up over the weekend along with clouds and a few peaks of sun, he added. High temperatures both Saturday and Sunday will be in the lower 70s.
As the weekend ends, temperatures will rise slightly and the chance for showers will dissipate.
"Monday will feature highs closer to normal, in the mid-70s," Edwards said, adding that the area will see a mix of clouds and sunshine.
While temperatures have dipped in Seattle, the heat has sparked multiple wildfires across Washington State.

"East of the Cascades temperatures are coming down; this started Thursday and continues through the weekend," AccuWeather Western Weather Expert Meteorologist Ken Clark said.
"While no important rain is expected where the vast majority of the fires are, temperatures lower considerably and humidity levels come up some. A negative still exists, however. Each day through the weekend, there will be southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with locally higher gusts."
This will spread fires quickly in brush, which is still very dry, he added.
