Here's the US National Weather Forecast for Friday,October 5,2012,as of 7AM,EDT/4AM,PDT, October 5,2012,from weatherunderground.com,enjoy:

Snow showers will taper off across northern Minnesota as a strong and cold low pressure system lifts northward and moves Ontario, Canada. The system may produce a few more light snow showers for part of far northern Minnesota, while strong and gusty winds will persist for most of the Upper Midwest. Heaviest snowfall is anticipated along the northern border of Minnesota with accumulation up to 3 inches. Expect wind gusts to reach up to 50 mph in some areas, causing periods of blowing snow and poor visibility. A cold front associated with this system extends southward and produces showers and thunderstorms from Missouri and Arkansas, through the Midwest, and up the Ohio River Valley. These areas will see a slight chance of severe weather development as this system has a history of producing large hail and strong winds.

Behind this system, a weak trough of low pressure slides through the Northern Rockies and into the Central Rockies, triggering a few snow showers, with periods of heavy snow likely at highest elevations.

Meanwhile in the South, a the tail end of a cold front lingers over Florida, producing more showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. The northern side of this front moves eastward and off the East Coast, which creates a short break in wet weather for the Northeast and Eastern Seaboard.
