Lightning May Have Sparked Massive Fire at Louisville GE Appliance Park

Emergency crews responded to a massive fire at General Electric's Appliance Park in Louisville, Kentucky, early Friday morning.
The fire occurred in Building 6 of the plant and was quickly evacuated, a MetroSafe spokeswoman told USA Today.
"Herrod's Creek Fire Chief Kevin Taylor said an early investigation is leaning toward a lightning strike as the cause of the blaze," local news state, WHAS11 reported Friday.

Louisville, Kentucky, was inundated by heavy rain overnight Thursday, as severe weather broke out across the Ohio Valley. By Thursday morning, some roadways were under more than 12 inches of water.
The Louisville area is forecast to receive additional rounds of drenching rain on Friday, though the risk of damaging thunderstorms will diminish, according to AccuWeather.com Expert Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski.
"Enough additional rain can fall to cause more flooding problems. However the rain during the midday and afternoon will not be as intense as Thursday night," Sosnowski said.
