Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday,February 3,2015
An
unsettled weather pattern will develop over the western Gulf Coast on
Tuesday, while a wave of low pressure will shift across the Plains and
the Midwest.
A trough of low pressure is expected to form over the western Gulf of Mexico. This system will deepen throughout Tuesday, bringing chances of light to moderate rain to the western and central Gulf Coast. A few rumbles of thunder will also be possible over the western Gulf Coast. A ridge of high pressure will keep conditions relatively calm across the Deep South, the Southeast, the Tennessee Valley and the East Coast.
Meanwhile, a wave of low pressure will slide quickly eastward over the northern Plains, the Midwest and the Ohio Valley. This system will usher light snow showers over the higher elevations of the Intermountain West, the northern and central Plains, the upper Midwest and the Ohio Valley.
A separate low pressure system will move onshore over Oregon. Due to the warm nature of this system, snow showers will be confined to the highest peaks of the Cascades, the northern Wasatch and the northern Rockies. Moderate to heavy rain will affect portions of northern California and Oregon, while light to moderate rain will spread across Washington. High pressure over the eastern Pacific will keep conditions clear across the Southwest on Tuesday.
