Much cooler and less humid air follows Thursday's locally damaging thunderstorms around Pittsburgh.
Locally damaging thunderstorms rolled through Pittsburgh, western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and western Maryland Thursday, before some of the coolest weather of the season so far arrives by Friday morning.
The combination of temperature, sunshine, humidity and other factors made it feel like the temperature was in the upper 90s in the urban areas for a few hours during the afternoons during the middle of the week.

Locally Severe Storms for I-95 Thursday

During Thursday night, severe thunderstorms and travel delays will focus along the I-95 corridor.
The showers and storms will break the warmth and high humidity.

Thursday night and Friday, Canadian air will settle in over the region with much lower temperatures and humidity, as well as a gusty breeze. Some people will feel refreshed, while others may mind the sudden chill.
The pattern Friday into the weekend could yield some of the lowest temperatures of the season so far for the metro area and the region in general. High temperatures will only be in the 60s in many locations.
