The dry weather is about to end as a cold front approaches from the west. The good news is that most of the upper level energy associated with the front is lifting northward, which means that rainfall will be light for the most part.
Showers and clouds will engulf the city on Sunday and will trim temperatures as a result.

This will make for a soggy tailgating outside of Ford Field, where the Lions take on the Chicago Bears at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
However, things will brighten up again for the last day of September as 70 degree temperatures are accompanied by sunshine on Monday.
The start to October will bring mid-70 degree temperatures, clouds and sunshine to the city.
The next chance of wet weather will not be until the first weekend in October.
