An exciting weekend of sport is on tap for Manchester, but rainfall will dampen events from Friday through Sunday.
Spells of rain are expected as the Great City Games take place on Friday afternoon.
The odd shower Friday morning will be followed by increasing rainfall in the afternoon. The Great City Games, which take place on Deansgate and near the athletic arena in Albert Square, begin at 16:45 BST. The final event will start at 19:18 BST. Temperatures will range from 14-17 C (58-62 F).
The Junior and Mini Great Manchester Run will take place on Saturday, and participants and spectators may have to deal with some storms.
The event, which takes place largely during the morning, will be at risk for spells of rain along with a rumble of thunder. Temperatures will range from 14-16 C (57-60 F) during the events.

The weather will be only marginally better on Sunday as frequent showers and occasional gusty winds greet runners of the Great Manchester Run. More than 40,000 are expected to participate this year.
Temperatures will slowly climb from 10 to 14 C (50 to 58 F) by the early afternoon as the race winds down.
While the temperatures will not be a hindrance to the runners, wet surfaces and gusty winds will factor into the race. Meanwhile spectators lined up along the course will need to be prepared to stay warm and dry with jackets and brollies.
While Manchester hosts the various athletic competitions, Manchester United will be in London for the FA Cup Final against Crystal Palace on Saturday. Showers, with the threat of thunder, are in the forecast. Fans heading to the game should be prepared for wet conditions.
The unsettled weather will continue in the Manchester region into early next week.
