This week is likely to end up as the warmest week so far this year in the Chicago area, but the warm weather will be accompanied by stormy conditions.
Each day through Thursday is forecast to be warm and a bit on the humid side with temperatures topping out around the 80-degree F mark.
The above-normal temperatures and uptick in humidity will make it feel more like summer, especially since much of May has been cooler than normal in Chicago.

Not only should people in Chicago expect summerlike temperatures this week, but also the chance for thunderstorms on a daily basis.
These storms are not expected to produce any widespread severe weather; however, some of the heavier storms could produce downpours and some brief gusty winds.
Severe or not, any thunderstorm that develops will produce frequent lightning, endangering people participating in outdoor activities. Depending on when these storms move over the city, they could cause some delays for the White Sox games on Tuesday and Wednesday.
