We thought it was a "no-brainer" to do a show at the intersection of weather and politics since the 2016 election season is in full swing. And we have the perfect guest to do it. Nate Silver's Five Thirty Eight website provides thoughts, perspectives, and narratives on politics, sports, and lifestyle from the lens of statistics. They have been very successful with their predictions over the years as well.
Five Thirty Eight's Senior Political Analyst is Harry Enten, Jr. He is also a Weather Geek and looks at weather models as much as political data. We invited Harry to Weather Geeks, and he accepted.
This Sunday we'll find out:
What Five Thirty Eight Does and why
How Harry became a weather geek
How Similar/Different Political Forecasting is from Weather Forecasting
Why Harry wrote some of his more provocative weather columns
How weather may have affected major political elections and careers
What role Sandy had in the 2012 election
Of course, I am not going to let one of the top political forecasters in the world come to the show and I not ask him about his early thoughts on the 2016 election.
Be sure to watch Weather Geeks this Sunday at Noon ET (11 am CT, 10 am MT, 9 am PT) and tell a friend.
Also, keep your eyes open for episodes this month on:
(1) The meteorology of FedEx
and
(2) A really special Air Force group that keeps our nation safe via meteorology and
climatology
You will love both of these episodes. All new December Wx Geeks to ring in the holiday season.
