Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,January 21,2015

An area of low pressure will develop over the Four Corners on Wednesday, while a wave of low pressure will shift across the Midwest and the Mid-Atlantic.

A low pressure system will deepen over Arizona and New Mexico. As this system slides eastward, it will initiate moderate to heavy snow showers over the southern Rockies and the southern high Plains. There will be a chance of mixed precipitation over the lower elevations of the Four Corners, while moderate rain will spread across southern and eastern Texas. High pressure will keep conditions cool and dry across the West Coast, the Great Basin and the Pacific Northwest. The exception to this will be over northwest Washington, where a cold front will bring a chance of late evening showers.

Meanwhile, a wave of low pressure will push east southeastward across the Midwest and the Mid-Atlantic. This system will usher light snow showers across the northern Plains, the upper Midwest and the Ohio Valley. During the second half of the day, this system will merge with a coastal system. The interaction will generate a mixture of rain and snow over the MId-Atlantic region. A calm weather pattern is forecast to persist over the Deep South, the Southeast and New England. Temperatures will stay below freezing across the majority of New England on Wednesday.
