Frigid conditions will last through the middle of the week in Detroit as the area experiences a gap in snowfall.
An early week cold shot will have daytime temperatures hovering in the mid-20s through Wednesday, which is about six degrees below normal for this time of year.
A midweek clipper system will bring some snow to the Midwest, including Chicago, but will have trouble pushing eastward, according to AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Krissy Pydynowski.
