While temperatures will moderate slightly, cold weather will linger across the Minneapolis area into early next week despite a return of sunshine.
Following a brutal blast of cold air, gusty winds and subzero temperatures through the week, the mercury will climb back into the teens late in the weekend, AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Danielle Knittle said.
Those planning to go outdoors through the middle of the week should take precautions against the cold as temperatures remain dangerously low.

Overnight lows through the middle of the week will sink into the single digits.
Temperatures will remain slightly below normal through the new week, but the weather will not be as blustery as it has been in recent days.
Dry weather can be expected through midweek, Knittle said.
