In the wake of the clipper storm that brought accumulating snow to the Washington, D.C., area on Tuesday, waves of cold will continue into the weekend.
AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures will dip below zero F at times into Saturday, driven by arctic air and blustery conditions.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to be on the lookout for icy spots into Wednesday, as colder air moving in causes wet and slushy areas to freeze.
An arctic front will cross the region on Wednesday with spotty snow showers during the evening.

The passage of the front could bring a few minutes of heavy snow, that could suddenly lower the visibility and bring a quick fresh coating of snow on some roads.
The coldest air of the season so far will settle into the region on Thursday with high temperatures remaining in the 20s F.
A second Alberta Clipper storm will pass by to the north on Friday with nothing more than a flurry.
After a modest recovery in the temperature department on Friday, the high may fail to reach the freezing mark on Saturday in the wake of the second clipper storm.

The cold weather this week will allow ski resorts in the region to make a great deal of snow.
Temperatures more typical of January later this weekend into next week will allow skiers to hit the slopes without the struggles of a deep freeze.

Winds are currently calm there - a breath of wind would likely cause the temp to spike 10 degrees or so.
