An extended period of sunshine is in store for the Seattle area.
"A high pressure system will build over the region through Monday, bringing plenty of sunshine to the area," said AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Andy Mussoline.
The building high pressure system will bring sunshine and near-normal temperatures Saturday, but then it will start to turn very warm Sunday and into early next week, Mussoline said.

It will be a great day for outdoor actives on Sunday as highs move into the low 80s with partly sunny skies.
Temperatures will continue to increase as the new week begins. Monday will see temperatures in the low 80s with sunny skies.
Highs will reach the mid-80s by Tuesday. Normals highs for this time of year are in the mid-70s.
Overnight lows will range from the upper 50s to low 60s through Tuesday.
