Chicago: Cooler Stretch of Below-Average Temperatures

Like much of the Midwest, Chicago will be feeling cooler temperatures that resembles fall more than the peak of summer for the next several days.
As part of the summertime polar vortex, the change in temperature will cause people to reach for jackets instead of sunscreen.
The chill will bring below-average temperatures in the 70s.

 The usual average is near the 85 F mark for this week though temperatures could be more than 10 degrees below the norm. By the weekend and into early next week, temperatures should be back on track in the low 80s.
Overnight temperatures will rise from the mid-50s to the mid-60s by the weekend.

Skies will be cloudy with more sunshine appearing in time for weekend plans.
In addition to the cooler air, AccuWeather meteorologists are warning of waterspouts developing near the shore.
With the rise in temperature, early next week could bring back the more typical summer humidity as well.
