Mid-April Warmth for Philly to Precede Midweek Storm

Philadelphia will continue to experience a taste of spring before winter makes a strong comeback at midweek.
Tuesday is shaping up to be the warmest day of the week with afternoon temperatures approaching the 65-degree mark. The number of people spending some time outdoors is sure to increase.
Those same people should not get used to this taste of spring with winter set to make a comeback.

Temperatures will take a tumble at midweek as a winter storm takes shape across the Ohio Valley Tuesday night, then impacts the Northeast Wednesday through Thursday morning.

The storm will initially spread rain across Philadelphia on Wednesday, leading to possible flight delays and a slow commute for motorists. The warmth lingering ahead of the storm can spark a few thunderstorms in the area as well.
The city will escape the storm's most substantial snow. However, the rain may mix with or end as some snow or flurries Wednesday night as colder air surges in on the back side of the storm.

There is also concern for any wet spots on untreated roads and sidewalks to turn icy as temperatures fall. Bridges and overpasses would be the first to become slick. The ice can make for a slippery Thursday morning commute.
A frigid Thursday will follow the winter storm with temperatures struggling to reach 30 degrees and blustery winds creating even lower AccuWeather.com RealFeel® temperatures.

Very fascinating to watch El Nino ingredients come together. Major fly in the ointment for a "Strong" Nino is cold phase PDO.
