Harrisburg: Week to End on a Warm Note

By , Expert Senior Meteorologist

In the wake of the snowstorm that grazed southern Pennsylvania, temperatures are forecast to reach well into the 50s late in the week as the wild ride continues with the March weather around Harrisburg.
While temperatures will rebound as the week progresses throughout the mid-Atlantic, the warmup will be slow through Wednesday. Highs are forecast to be within a few degrees of 40 F on Wednesday and part of the mid-Atlantic states, including the Harrisburg area, may have an icy start to the day.

Temperatures will rebound into the 50s on Thursday as spring officially arrives in the afternoon.
The nicest day of the week will be Friday, when some sunshine and light winds are in store for the first full day of spring.
Some rain may return to the area on Saturday.
Even though the region will be officially done with winter, the weather may not abide by change of seasons.
Another system is being watched for possible snow during the middle of next week over the mid-Atlantic and central Appalachians in general. However, at this early stage, the track, the dividing line between rain and snow and the magnitude of the storm are uncertain.
Regardless of the storm potential, cold air will return next week.
