"Red flag warnings were in effect for central Oklahoma Thursday because of the weather conditions – highs in the lower 70s, relative humidity below 20 percent, and sustained southerly winds of 20 mph with gusts around 30 mph," said weather.com meteorologist Nick Wiltgen. Such weather conditions are known to enable fires to spread rapidly."
At least five wildfires sprung up along the westbound side of Turner Turnpike in Oklahoma County, according to News 9. The cause of the fires is yet to be determined.
