Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday,June 26,2016

Active weather will impact areas from the Midwest to the Four Corners on Sunday, while a dry weather pattern continues across the West Coast.

A low pressure system will move slowly eastward across south central Canada. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend southwestward from the western Great Lakes to the southern high Plains. As this frontal boundary transitions eastward, it will collide with a warm and humid air mass. This interaction will lead to strong to severe thunderstorms over the Midwest, the upper Mississippi Valley, the central Plains and the southern Plains. Severe thunderstorms will be possible in central and eastern Michigan. These thunderstorms will be capable of producing large hail, dangerous straight line winds and isolated tornadoes. The tail end of this frontal boundary will interact with monsoonal moisture, which will lead to isolated showers and thunderstorms in parts of the Four Corners.

Just to the east, a stalled out frontal boundary will be the focal point for showers and thunderstorms in the Deep South and the Southeast. Most of the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast will stay clear of wet weather as high pressure builds over the western Atlantic.

The majority of areas west of the Continental Divide will also experience dry weather on Sunday. Heat advisories will go into effect for portions of southern California at midday.
