Summer warmth to vanish as downpours and cool air invade the UK for most of July

A persistent storm track will keep summer warmth out of the United Kingdom through much of July.
The storms coming in from the Atlantic combined with cool air from the north will put a damper on outdoor plans.
While May and June featured several stretches of abnormal warmth, July is likely to have more days with below-normal high temperatures than days that bring heat.
Normal high temperatures during the middle of July range from 18-21 C (64-70 F) in most locations.

"A trough will remain centered over northwestern Europe over the next couple of weeks," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Jason Nicholls said.
"This trough should keep heat out of the United Kingdom through the first half of July and force any heat eastward into eastern Europe and western Russia," Nicholls said.
This trough will also open the door for frequent unsettled weather as storms from the Atlantic Ocean move through the region.
A weather pattern featuring more days with at least a brief shower than dry and sunny days will prevail throughout the month of July with extended stormy periods during the first half of the month.

Dry barbecues will be few and far between as rainfall will be most likely during the afternoons. Areas that will get the most rainfall include Wales, northern England, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
This stormy pattern may also cause havoc at Wimbledon which runs through July 10.
Numerous chances for rainfall will likely result in several delays throughout the tournament with some threat of a washout.
Lengthy delays are possible both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon and again next week as storm systems moves through the region.
