To kick off the Easter holiday weekend, many across the United States had their eyes turned to the sky, looking for the lunar eclipse known as a "blood moon".
Early on Saturday morning, April 4, the Earth stood in the path of the sun's rays reaching the Moon, leaving it covered in a magnificent orange-red.
While too many clouds were in the sky for many across the East to see this eclipse, a few were able to find a clear spot to view this beauty.
Some of the most spectacular views came from NASA's feed of the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, California, where skies were clear.
